Hunts Point, Bronx, NY Triumph Construction Corp. has once again brightened the holidays for the entire 123-student population of three- to five-year-olds at nearby La Peninsula Head Start. According to Triumph Construction Founder and President Carlo Cuzzi, the students at La Peninsula write letters to Santa each year and Triumph Construction tries to get the children everything on their lists.

“Despite the busy holiday shopping season, Triumph employees volunteer their time buying and wrapping the gifts. It’s a labor of love,” explains Cuzzi. “The happiness on the children’s faces is something everyone here looks forward to each December.”

According to La Peninsula Head Start Site Director June Glaze, the students were even more vocal this year when they opened their presents.

“They loved everything and they loved the Triumph elves who brought the gifts and visited with the classes,” remarked Glaze. “What Triumph does for these children and their families is truly exceptional. Everyone at La Peninsula joins me in thanking them for being such kind-hearted neighbors and doing so much each year to spread joy.”

For the fifth year in a row, volunteers from Triumph Construction Corp. donated their time, love, and enthusiasm to create a very special night for families who have a child undergoing cancer treatment in a New York area hospital.  As in year’s past, the Triumph crew took over the outdoor terrace at Ronald McDonald House New York and transformed it into a place of joy, complete with decorations, great food, music, and even dancing.

“We always come up with a different theme,” explains Triumph’s Shirley Jacobs, who plans and oversees every detail.  “This year’s theme was ‘Italian Feast’ but we’ve done luaus, hoedowns, circus themes — you name it.  The kids love it and so do their parents.  It’s a chance for them to relax and have fun…even if it’s just for a few hours.  That kind of break can go a long way and is definitely appreciated.”

Shirley was introduced to Ronald McDonald House through Children’s Happy Faces Foundation, which raises money for Ronald McDonald House.  When she learned that Ronald McDonald House provides temporary lodging and care for families while their child battles cancer, she brought it to the attention of Triumph Construction President Carlo Cuzzi and the company has been a steadfast supporter ever since.

“What makes our annual dinners at Ronald McDonald House so great,” says Shirley, “is seeing this group of guys come back year after year to help make this happen.  Triumph has a lot of heart and I’m proud of the difference we make.”

Hunts Point, Bronx, NY – Triumph Construction Corp., one of the largest privately-held utility contractors in the New York metropolitan area, began work this summer on a $51 million dollar contract in support of New York City’s Comprehensive Plan for Coney Island. The project includes the construction of storm and sanitary sewers, water mains, and street reconstruction, ranging from roadways, sidewalks, and streetscapes to street lighting, traffic signals, and appurtenances.

“Coney Island is a world-renowned amusement and entertainment destination,” observed Triumph Construction President Carlo Cuzzi, “but it’s also a larger neighborhood that’s home to 50,000 residents and the businesses that support them. At Triumph, we’re honored to take part in a major infrastructure project that will directly benefit those who live, work, and visit here. The changes and improvements we’re making at street level will set the stage for new housing, services, and amenities for years to come.”

According to New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC), the project’s goals include improving the sewer and water infrastructure in the area of the project site; improving water quality by constructing sewers which will collect and convey storm and sanitary flows from the neighborhood; allowing for treatment of sanitary flows by conveying flows to a treatment plant; alleviate flooding; and supporting the City’s initiatives. HAKS Engineers, Architects, and Land Surveyors, P.C. has been retained by NYCEDC to act as the construction manager for the project.

The majority of work being undertaken by Triumph Construction will take place on Neptune Avenue, Mermaid Avenue, and Surf Avenue as well as West 17^th, West 19^th, and West 20^th Streets. Triumph Construction will also make on-site grade change/access modifications along the northern frontage of MCU Park, home of the Brooklyn Cyclones.

Hunts Point, Bronx, NY – Triumph Construction Corp., one of the largest privately-held utility contractors in the New York metropolitan area, was awarded the winning contract by New York City’s Department of Design and Construction (NYCDDC) for a $37 million-plus infrastructure replacement project on Flatbush Avenue in the vicinity of Sterling Place and 8^th Avenue in the Brooklyn neighborhood of Park Slope.

As detailed in the contract, Triumph Construction will replace trunk and distribution water mains and combined sewer and appurtenances.  The company will also be responsible for new curb extensions, street lighting, and traffic signal work in addition to the redevelopment of the 8^th Avenue Triangle streetscape.
